Off and Running

OYO

June 6th, 2010

So this last meeting we officially started the bear project, which is going great! Hopefully, more people can show up this week. We’re keeping the same time and same place- that’s this Thursday, the tenth, at coffee house on cherry street at four o’clock. We now have an awesome communal stash of the goods and more patterns, too. Let me know if there’s trouble getting a ride. Also, I will have my camera with me so that we can have some pictures for updates. If you’re camera shy, we can work around it. See you there!

Let’s adapt

OYO

May 31st, 2010

Dear TSASSINATORS,

A lot of people couldn’t make it last week because they couldn’t get rides during the early hours of the day. In order to avoid having to start a super, not to mention complicated, carpool chain we’re going to try a later time when more people will be able to be dropped off. We’ll try four o’clock at Coffee House On Cherry Street on Thursday. If you can come,  do try to bring your own knitting supplies, if you don’t have any, we will try to bring some extras. If you think you shouldn’t come because you can’t knit, do not fret, we will have people more than willing to teach you how. We are going to try to start a new project this year that will benefit children in countries all over the world. It’s called the Mother Bear Project. You will need 3 colors of yarn to make a bear.  Four-ply worsted weight yarn is best for bear making. We will hopefully get the pattern by Thursday. If you don’t think you can make a bear yet, then you can make a lovely potholder or an awkward scarf that are equally necessary to make this world a happier and warmer place. So, to sum up, Thursday 4 o’clock at CHOCS, try to bring knitting supplies and if you have extras that you don’t mind lending to other people then please bring them, if you’re up to making a bear bring yarn you would like to see on it, call me if you have any questions my number has been posted on an earlier post, and if you have anyone you think might enjoy it then bring them along. Hope that I haven’t scared you off with this horribly long run-on sentence and that I’ll see you this Thursday.

Sincerely,

Alex Prieto

OYO This Summer

OYO

May 24th, 2010

Dear knitters,

For Thursday the 27th, so the first OYO meeting this summer, I was hoping we could meet at CHOCS around 11. That’s in the morning. We need to talk about Alex’s fabulous idea for the mother bear project, like how we want to exactly get this started and what our goal is for the summer. Please let me know if you can make it! I haven’t gotten the pattern yet, so bear with me. Pun intended.  Sorry, I had to.

Picnic in the Park

OYO

May 18th, 2010

Hey there,

This week we were thinking of having a picnic, food and all. Due to graduation being Thursday, the picnic will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Woodward Park. If this is a problem for anyone or you are interested in bringing food, please let me know!

Congratulations Seniors!

The show must go on.

Dear TSASIANS,

I think, despite there not being any school, we should still have OYO today. We would still try and meet at CHOCS, if they have power and they are not over packed or we could meet at someone’s house. Perferably one with power. I was hoping today would be the day when we put all of our efforts into recruiting. While it would mainly consist of making posters, if you have any other ideas feel free to bring supplies and we can try it together. I would like to meet at the usual time, so around 3:30. Hopefully some people still have power and they can see this post, if not then I should probably start getting people’s numbers. I’ll start by giving you mine. Alex Prieto (918) 373-4733. Call me if you can make it, and call other people telling them to come. Long live the knitting club.

Sincerely,

Alex Prieto

P.S. If you have any poster making stuff try and bring it.

P.S.S. Hope everyone is having a nice day off.
