Hey everyone.
This is the very first post to this section of the website, so bear with me. I hope that it is in the correct section of the website but please don’t be upset with me if it isn’t.
Here we go.
This week we discussed different things we could do as projects and Alex and Rachel developed an amazing list. Hopefully these things will help to recruit a younger audience considering that most of our members are graduating and leaving. Also, we will be working on posters (again) and doing other things to get the word out that OYO will be meeting throughout the summer.
I was thinking that because we only have 3 weeks of actual school left we should focus more on smaller and simpler group activities such as henna and whatnot. I’m not saying that we won’t do the baking thing, its just that we need to recruit! Baking may have to be a weekend thing, or just done on another day.
If anyone has any ideas about what projects we should do, please leave comments. Â This means you, Alex and Rachel.

Well, we have four more Thursdays in May and Rachael and I don’t have anything planned till June really. Henna sounds cool and we can have one Thursday where we just make posters and do other recruiting stuff. The last Thursday of May we can just talk to the new recruits about what projects they want this next year. Rachael and I have a rough calendar set up, but it is very flexible. We want to be really open to what ever ideas anybody might have so I think that day will be really important. We can even make it a picnic meeting. Nothing gathers recruits better than a picnic in a park.

Also Andy gets out of college this week and Kathryn might also. We can have an alumni reunion thing. They could give us some ideas about projects to do, and if we get a lot of new people they can help teach them how to knit. They are only a phone call away.
So, May 6th we can do henna, May 13th we can do recruitment stuff, May 20th we can have the picnic and “initiation”, finally May 27th we can start off the summer and new year with alumni day and the beginning of the bear project. That’s just a suggestion though. I’m not really in charge just yet.

I think May 6th for henna would be great. I also have a couple of stencils I can bring if that would help.
