    So I thought I knew what I was writing about and everything but I’m not sure of if I’m supposed to be trying to make a point or not, in this essay. Is there supposed to be a point or something? Or is it more of a summary and relating it to the book?

    Good question. The underlying argument here is simply that the work you have chosen follows Campbell’s cycle. I suggested choosing works that don’t follow the standard narrative arc to make the essay more interesting. Some questions you ought to consider: Are the elements presented in order? If not, why? What does it add to the story? Are some of the elements presented in an unexpected manner? Is there more than one cycle within the work? For example, is the whole journey simply an atonement with the father, with a smaller, complete cycle within?
