Cool Internetness.

Internet Goodness. Wed, Aug 13th, 2008 at 2:05 pm

Themes:

If you were confused by the RSS feed talk today, check out this older post.  I have listed sites that I enjoy, as well as a video about setting up an RSS feed yourself.

I’d add Treehugger and Popmatters to the list.

Remember, comment below, telling me who you are (if it isn’t obvious from your name), which web sites you like to visit and anything else you care to share, like good music!  If you don’t have a site to share, click on a link that has been posted, have a look around, and report back.

Buy journals soon.  I’ll order About a Boy in a few days.

Amazing first day!  Thanks, guys.

I am Paul Orban. I have your class last hour.
Check this out, this is so completely awesome that it is not even funny.

MELEE! has been around for a long time, just read about it and click the little blue links at the bottom of the melee website that say “harold” to look at some of the riduckulously sweet pictures.

    Ashley from 5th hour.
I go to online vetrinary book & read diagnosis/symptoms, I want to go to vet school, so thats what i spend most of my time online doing.
I just started listening to The Wombats, so far i like them.
& I enjoy bands like Wolfmother, The White Stripes, Muse, and Cake..etc.

I’m Jade from your last hour.

I love Japanese Rock (J-Rock). Japanese musicians like Gackt, Miyavi, Tadahisa Yoshida, The GazettE, HYDE, Maximum the Hormone, Nightmare, Do As Infinity, Ayumi
Hamasaki, Namie Amuro, Joe Hisaishi, ON/OFF and Kanon Wakeshima are just some of my favorite artists out there. I watch their performances on youtube most of the time, but I have TONS of their songs in my iTunes.

    🙂

@Paul: That’s the craziest thing I’ve seen all night. I’m really creeped out by the ninth picture down here.

@James: Solid selection. I’ve actually never seen Juno… I know. Major oversight on my part. Do ever create your own videos? I love the first one.

@Kevin: Love the others, but have never heard Maps and Atlases. I’ll check them out tonight. “Feel Good, Inc” is always played on my way to work.

@Ashley: Where do you find them? That’s really cool. Like Kevin’s, love the others, but I don’t know Wolfmother. I have Steppenwolf and Wolf Parade. Not the same thing.

@Jade: Haha I know nothing of J-Rock (yes! new word!). You’ll have to bring some in for us.

My contribution: You know most of the sites I visit (see list in post), so here’s The Encyclopedia of Life. [Looking at Ashley] Have fun. Oh! Also this. It’s half an hour long, but incredible.

Hey. Shane or Brandon from fifth hour. I would put a site I like to get information from but … i don’t really get signifigant information from the internet all that much and, when I do, I usually just use Google. I like all kinds of music; rap, rock, polka, and especially music by Mai Matsuda! ^_^

This is one of the online books, its the Merck Veterinary Manual..

& you should go listen to Wolfmother. I also have it on my ipod if you want to check it out.

this is my youtube account, i suggest you check most of it out, even my favorites.

oh yeah I also go to melee and love it!

  10. JStallings says:

@Ashley: Definitely bring the Wolfmother. We can take a look as a class. My favorite line from the new MVM: “Thirty new chapters, including West Nile encephalitis!” [My emphasis added.] Are you working at a shelter or something close? Might be something to look into.

@Josiah: “In an epic battle–of rock, paper, scissors!” Very cool. Like improv meets melee. You should keep going!

This is Sean from 3rd hour Brit. Lit., and I spend a lot of time at http://www.broadway.com, (nerdy as it may seem). I don’t know how much interest you take in theatre, but it’s very important to me and that site is a good way to find out about new shows, or just what’s showing now. You can read reviews as well as watch clips. Also, check out this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahg6qcgoay4. It’s horribly entertaining.

  13. Izzy says:

    Hi. =]
Alright this is my favorite site of all time.
I’m sure you have already heard of it, but that’s okay.
    post secret

  14. Izzy says:

    P.S.
I told you I hate writing in paragraphs.

  15. JStallings says:

@Ashley: Best. Just to let them know you’re reallyinterested.

@Sean: That video’s brilliant. We’re definitely watching this in class.

@Izzy: I check PostSecret first thing every Sunday. Always incredible. Ever try to figure out the story behind the postcards? I always make one up for a few of the cards.
